RACERAMA.doc CAR V2.00
By Anders Bjerin
This program will work either on NTSC (North American) or PAL (Europe,
Australian, etc.) Amigas. On 512K systems, unhook any external drives before
running the program, to ensure sufficient memory.
Open a Shell or CLI window from your Workbench. In it type:
racerama ntsc <press Return>
or
racerama pal <press Return>
. . . depending on whether you have an NTSC or PAL Amiga.
ABOUT THE GAME
This is a two-dimensional fully scrolling racing game. It uses the
entire screen in PAL or NTSC with overscan and features four-channel stereo
sound.
It is fully controlled by a joystick, which is required to play.
The idea is to guide your car around the selected track. Steer left and
right with the stick. To accelerate or decelerate, press the fire button and
move the stick forward or backward while holding down the button.
You can chose among 10 different tracks patterned on race sites in
Sweden (no polar bears included). Each track has its individual high score
list, which is automatically updated when you start or quit the game. Keep
your disk writeable, or your scores will be lost.
When you start the game it will try to load several files containing
sound and data. Be patient. If you are using an Amiga with more than 512K,
the program will show an introductory picture (VOLVO.pic) while loading. On
an unexpanded machine you will receive an error message, which should not
worry you since it will not affect the performance of the game.
When you end play, the program returns all memory and facilities and
does not interfere with other tasks.
This program is dedicated to Sioe-Lin Kwik because of her moral support
and assistance.
